On 12th Feb, the MTS 2019 Spring Festival Celebration was successfully held in Xiamen, at the Yiho Hotel.
The celebration, themed “Improving and Surpassing”, was just like a family reunion, and all our dream-seekers were able to let their hair down and enjoy themselves. In retrospect, we have made remarkable achievements. In the new year, we will keep pursing dreams and working hard.
MTS 2019 Annual Meeting
Heartfelt speech
At the beginning of the meeting, our General Manager, Frank Wei, delivered the keynote speech and led everyone in reviewing 2018 and looking forward to 2019.
First, Frank Wei briefly reviewed some of the key data. In 2018, MTS’s business grew steadily and there were some remarkable new achievements. For example, revenue increased by 8% on the previous year; the major departments not only completed but actually over-fulfilled their quota of annual tasks. We joined hands with new partners like IFLY to make translations of the live broadcasts, and we have made continual breakthroughs in our published book translation business. We also invested in Boostlingo, and other innovative projects. Frank Wei expressed his sincere gratitude and heartfelt congratulations to every team, department and employee who worked hard, made outstanding contributions and achieved outstanding results in 2018.
At the same time, he mentioned the current challenges we face and the pain points we are experiencing in our work. If 2018 was full of challenges, it can be said that opportunities and challenges will coexist in 2019. As such, he set out the focus of our coming work and the corresponding arrangements for each department. He encouraged us all to become experts, to embrace change and to surpass ourselves so that we can improve customer satisfaction through more professional services.
Next, the directors of each department summarized the year’s work and shared their opinions about how to improve the quality of our translation services. Their speeches received the unanimous approval of the colleagues present.
The director of the domestic business department put questions to account managers from the customer’s viewpoint to illustrate how to meet customer requirements, realize zero-error communication and surpass customer expectations. The director of Jiujiuyi delivered the speech “Translation services also need to keep up with the pace of the times”, in which she shared her customer service experience; her words of kindly advice and encouragement flowed freely.
The director of the translation department talked about orientation amid the wave of translation technology innovations, sharing how to use different translation techniques, resources and processes to adapt to the requirements of different customers and projects. Another colleague from the same department reviewed a large project he had undertaken with all the feeling of someone describing an old friend. The cultural communication company talked about how to become bigger and stronger while reducing costs. The international business department shared how to optimize customer experience in terms of service time efficiency and communication. The project department focused on quality control, handling of urgent projects, management of part-time employees and internal coordination.
Highest honor commendations
There have been so many stories and things that have moved us over the past year. MTS’s development could not have been realized without the efforts of each and every hard-working employee. At MTS we have dedicated, bright new stars performing outstandingly and devoted teams bringing about creative change. They never let up in their pursuit of perfection. Here we find dreams and glory bursting into reality.
The dinner party
Everyone gathered together in the dining hall after the meeting. Colleagues from different departments chatted face to face. It was a time for everyone to show off their talents, with sketches, games, song and dance performances, and more. Applause resounded though the hall and the laughter never stopped. There were many awards to be won.
Some employees who were unable to attend sent New Year’s blessings via video message. The party was shared through a live broadcast and everyone was able to participate simultaneously.
MTS is now 19 years old, having been established in 2000. Thank you to everyone who has been with us along the way. A new journey has already begun. Here we stand, poised, continually improving and constantly surpassing ourselves. We look forward to seeing you in the new year!
